Backhaul Providers

Dual upstream providers for path redundancy. Mix of licensed microwave links and fiber drops where available. No single point of failure.

Cambium cnPilot for PTMP deployments. Ubiquiti airFiber for point-to-point backhaul. Mimosa for high-density coverage sectors. All commercial-grade, not consumer hobby equipment.

Spectrum Used

5 GHz unlicensed for CPE and sector links — cost-effective where line-of-sight is clean. Licensed CBRS (3.5 GHz) for high-interference zones and where durability matters.

Network Monitoring

24/7 uptime monitoring on all tower sites. Latency, packet loss, and capacity metrics tracked continuously. Proactive alerting before customers notice issues.

Redundancy & Failover

Secondary ISP upstream with automatic failover. UPS and generator backup at critical tower sites. Dual geographic routing on core links.

Two decades of building, not just talking about building

2004

Founded

SWWWC incorporated. First tower goes live in Evanston — bridging the connectivity gap for rural Uinta County residents.

2008–2011

Early expansion

Coverage extends to Fort Bridger, Lyman, and Mountain View. First fiber backhaul drop acquired. Customer base grows to hundreds.

2015–2018

Network hardening

Upgraded to Cambium cnPilot platform. Dual upstream providers installed. All critical sites get UPS/generator backup.

2020–present

Growth + BEAD prep

Expanded into Bridger Valley. CBRS licensed spectrum acquired for high-interference zones. Infrastructure aligned for BEAD program requirements.

Primary east-west spine carrying aggregated sector traffic from Evanston HQ, Fort Bridger, Lyman, Mountain View, and Bridger Valley north-handoff to the Rock Springs sweetwater core backhaul. Today provisioned on a pair of licensed 6 GHz PtP radios, current 5-minute carried traffic reads 0.32 Gbps — well below the 1.0 Gbps ceiling on the pair. Headroom is reserved for business-tier upgrades and Pinedale build-out handoff traffic once that corridor goes live.

Carried traffic sits well under 25% of provisioned ceiling — the Lonetree expansion added residential capacity but did not measurably move aggregate backhaul utilization on this corridor.

Cross-terrain corridor routed through the Ft Bridger relay that gives the Rock Springs hub an alternate northbound path when the primary Evanston HQ inbound link takes weather degradation. Sits at roughly 26% of provisioned capacity; not currently a hot route, but is the explicit second-path redundancy the capability statement §6 documents.

BEAD Grant Positioning

Building toward BEAD —
with a 21-year head start

The Wyoming BEAD allocation is significant. SWWWC's existing footprint means BEAD dollars go farther — less capital expenditure required to reach unserved addresses, faster deployment timelines, lower per-location cost for the state.

Existing coverage

BEAD can count our existing service area as covered — no need to fund what's already live. Focus shifts to extending the perimeter to unserved addresses efficiently.

Operational readiness

Local crews already in the territory. Equipment vendors under contract. Tower sites secured with long-term leases. No ramp-up time needed.

Challenging terrain

We operate in some of Wyoming's toughest terrain — high elevation, mountainous ridgelines, extreme weather. BEAD infrastructure in SW Wyoming benefits from our expertise here.
